The Vision Behind the Movement
Born and raised in Mumbai, Inder Vhatwar is a creator, curator, and community builder whose work connects fashion, identity, and celebration. With professional training from the London College of Fashion, he brings a global perspective to aesthetics, storytelling, and experiential design.
A Journey Rooted in Pride
Inder launched D’Kloset in 2009 — a fashion label built on creativity and inclusivity. In 2010, the Bandra flagship became one of India’s first openly LGBTQ+ fashion spaces, gaining recognition across leading newspapers, magazines, TV channels, and documentaries including BBC UK.
The mission was powerful: creating a safe space where everyone could express themselves freely and authentically.
Building a Nightlife Movement
To expand this spirit into nightlife, Inder created RAGE by D’Kloset — an event series blending drag, fashion, music, and performance. What started locally soon transformed into a nationwide movement, defining India’s queer nightlife identity.
After the store’s closure, Inder continued curating high-end inclusive events at top luxury venues such as Sofitel BKC, InterContinental Marine Lines, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, The Lalit Andheri, Sea Princess Juhu, Host-Inn, The Beatle Hotel Powai, and more.
